Literature Fair

Throughout the course of a school year students get exposed to a variety of quality literature during their Reading classes. In order to highlight this literature and more, the 4th, 5th and 6* grade students participate in a Literature Fair. The participants make a literature choice of 150 pages or more at the appropriate reading level. Students then determine the main character of the book. On the day of the fair, each student dresses as the character and assumes its role during the fair. The purpose of the fair is to expose students to books that they have not read and stimulate their interest in reading.

Exhibits/projects consist of the following:

-Title of the book
-A scene, which depicts the setting of the book
-A model or diorama display, which will convey an event, that took place in the story
-A hands-on activity or   handout, which visitors to the exhibit can see
-A written summary of the book
