Dear Parishioners and Friends of the Parish Jan 17, 2010
Rev. Thaddeus (Ted) Dzieszko

Dear Parishioners and Friends, Today’s Gospel according to St. John tells of the invitation of Jesus and His Mother to the wedding at Cana in Galilee. We all certainly remember that this is the wedding reception where at the request of his Mother the first public miracle of Jesus occurred -- the changing of the water into wine. This is the Gospel, which in a special way, encourages us all to reflect, and especially young couples entering into marriage. Let us not be afraid of inviting Jesus into our lives. Let us ask Mary, just as at the wedding at Cana, to be our intercessor, when she said with great concern, “They have no wine.” Jesus will not harm your life. He who is our best Friend wishes good and happiness for us all. Our Blessed Mother, who so tenderly caressed her Son, brought Him up, took care of Him for thirty-three years, also desires to help us all through Her intercession full of concern and love of prayer. Today she also turns to all of us with the same words she spoke at the wedding at Cana: “Do whatever He tells you.” Let this Sunday be the opportunity of our personal openness and invitation to Jesus and His Mother for the feasts of our entire lives. The Appreciation Reception in the Handzel Center is always an occasion to thank you, our dear volunteers, for your work and involvement in our St. Constance Parish. I cannot imagine the existence of our parish without your presence in the different activities of our parish life. It would be difficult to name each individual, but allow me to thank all who: sing, teach, read, clean, distribute the Eucharist, collect, engage in the financial affairs, prepare the bulletin, visit the sick, work in the parish office, chairmen and chairwomen of different organizations, those involved in school and religious programs, in sports, and all the different activities of parish life, doing this for the glory of God and benefit of others. May Our Lord Jesus bless you for all you do and reward you in this life and in your future life. This Sunday, January 17th, beginning at eight o’clock in the evening we will disassemble our crib and holiday decorations. Volunteers are sincerely invited. Decorations must be taken apart and arranged in appropriate order so that they will be ready for the following Christmas. Many thanks again to all who will involve themselves in this work. Today after all Masses you can meet in Father Borowczyk Hall the representatives of the firm “Clear” who are involved in the newest, quickest and probably the most economical internet connections. All who have the internet should seek this information and perhaps become a user of it. The firm “Clear” promised to make a donation to St. Constance Parish from each subscriber. In this way you can help yourself and support your parish. Families whose income does not exceed $45,000.00, and individuals whose income does not exceed $20,000.00 a year, can take advantage of the services offered by the charitable organization of the Archdiocese of Chicago for free assistance in completing their income tax returns. You can obtain more information regarding this matter by calling 312-409-1555 or on the internet goladderup.org May Jesus bless us all and our dear guests who visited us today.
