Dear Parishioners and Friends of the Parish Jun 13, 2010
Rev. Thaddeus (Ted) Dzieszko

Today in Luke’s Gospel, we read about the meeting of Jesus with the sinful woman in the home of the Pharisee. The visit of Jesus to the home of the Pharisee was for many scandalous, let alone the conversation with the sinful woman whose blameworthy lifestyle was well-known to all. We learn from the Gospel that Jesus treated both the Pharisee and the sinful woman with great compassion. At the end of the Gospel we learn why. The Pharisee as well as the woman were aware of their sins and had a sincere desire to change their lifestyles. We are especially moved by the bond of love that was established between the woman and Jesus. With her tears she washed the feet of our Lord, with her hair she dried them. Then she poured a bottle of expensive oil on the feet of Jesus. In turn, Jesus seeing her sorrow and love said: “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” Jesus also awaits our invitations, brothers and sisters. He awaits our sorrow and our love. He wants to show us His forgiveness, regardless of our decadence in sin. Men who are interested in serving as priests are encouraged to contact the Director of Vocations, Rev. Joseph Noonan, at Mundelein Seminary. His telephone number is 1-847-970-4845 or you can e-mail him at jnoonan@usml.edu. More information on this subject can be obtained on the internet www.chicagopriest.com. Mark your calendars for the St. Constance Parish Dinner Dance on Saturday, October 9th. At the suggestion of many this year the Dinner Dance will return to our Parish’s Handzel Center. This year we will be honoring Deacon Thaddeus Lisowski, in a special way for the many years of served to St. Constance Parish, and at the same time wishing him well on his well-deserved retirement. We will also be thanking his wife Casey, who for many years served on the Parish Pastoral Council. I invite volunteers to a joint planning of this event. A meeting will take place in Father Martin Borowczyk Hall on Thursday, August 5th, at seven o’clock in the evening. I am seeking two people to serve as the co-chairpeople of this event. The last meeting of our Parish Pastoral Council was Thursday, June 3rd. At the meeting many important parish concerns were discussed. A full account of the meeting will soon be published in our bulletin. Those who would be interested in serving on the Parish Pastoral Council are asked to contact me in person or by telephone. I express heartfelt birthday greetings to Sister Agnieszka Jach, our Sacristan, who observed her birthday on June 4th; also to Sister El¿bieta Barnowska, our REP Director, who observed her birthday on June 8th. Best wishes to Deacon Rudy Kotleba, who will observe his birthday on June 18th; to Deacon George Gniech, our Pastoral Associate, who will observe his birthday on June 20th; as well as to Sister Bo¿ena B³¹d, our Business Assistant, who will observe her birthday on June 23rd. May Jesus abundantly bless you and all our parishioners who in turn will celebrate their birthdays in June.
