Dear Parishioners and Friends of the Parish Jul 11, 2010
Rev. Thaddeus (Ted) Dzieszko

In today’s Gospel according to St. Luke, we learn from Jesus himself that in order to achieve eternal happiness it is necessary to keep the commandment of love: “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” We learn also that our neighbor can be every person, as we can be a neighbor to others. There is one condition -- that we know how to show each other love, kindness, respect, and to show deeds of love. Let us ask ourselves: How much concern, friendliness, kindness, willingness to help people who many times we do not know, but who are in need is there in us? The firm “Lowell International Foods,” which imports food from Poland, very often donates food for the poor through our parish. Likewise children in our school and the REP program received candy as presents. During the terrible floods in Poland their main warehouse with food was completely destroyed. The firm incurred immense losses. Insurance did not cover much. The warehouse was moved to a new, more secure location. By buying items in various delicatessens, produced by “Lowell International Foods,” you can help to make up their enormous losses and at the same time we will be thanking them for their kindness extended to so many in St. Constance Parish. Last Saturday, together with the “Group Stare Bystro #46” and “Deli for You” we collected $1,626.84 for Poland. We thank all for their offerings. The money will be donated to the neediest families. Those with good reasons, who cannot attend church are encouraged to listen to Relevant Radio 950/930 AM. There are many interesting religious programs and from 8:00pm to 9:00pm the Rosary is prayed and Holy Mass is celebrated. More information on Relevant Radio can be found on the internet www.relevantradio950.com Attention boys and girls in the sixth to the twelfth grades: We have a very attractive proposal for you -- a one-day youth camp “Totus Tuus Day Camp” on August 2nd, from 9:30 in the morning to 7:00 in the evening at the beautiful Maryville Academy in Des Plaines. There will be games, sports, food, discussions, Mass and time for individual reflection. You will be able to meet new friends, seminarians, college students, priests, nuns, and most important you will meet Jesus. To make reservations, e-mail Pat Pacer ppacer@archchicago.org or call 312-534-2587 or go on line at TotusTuus.org All who made reservations for the outing to the “Four Winds Casino Resort” tomorrow, Monday, July 12th, should be in the parish parking lot no later than 9:45am. If you are not on time, you will lose the $30.00 that you paid. All MUST HAVE a photo I.D. (drivers license or passport). Two buses will leave promptly at 10:00am. Each one must be on the bus on which you have your reservation. You cannot be late or freely change to the other bus. The return is scheduled for 6:00pm. May Jesus bless us all and our guests who visited us today.
