Dear Parishioners and Friends of the Parish Aug 8, 2010
Rev. Thaddeus (Ted) Dzieszko

In today’s Gospel Jesus speaks of his second coming, also of the reward that awaits those who lead a good and trustworthy life, and of the punishment for those who are unfaithful. The coming of Jesus comes unexpectedly, as when a thief comes unexpectedly under the cover of darkness. That is why we should always be ready for this most important meeting. We know that this meeting follows the moment of death. None of us know when death will occur -- some children die, youthful boys and girls, young mothers and fathers, those who are still needed and have important obligations to fulfill. Many a time people who are ailing and those in advanced years are waiting for death. Death is a great mystery, and at the same time an important meeting with God upon whom all eternity is dependent. Ask yourself: Am I ready to meet God if death would come to me today or tomorrow? If you are not ready, make a firm decision today to change the way you live your life. I encourage parents who are looking for a good preschool and school for their children to acquaint themselves with the good program offered at our St. Constance Parish School. For more information call the school office at 773-283-2311. During the absence of the secretary please leave your information on the recording. Parents who send their children to public schools are encouraged to register their children for religious education in our school. We offer religious education in the English and Polish languages. Please call Sr. El¿bieta Barnowska regarding this at 773-545-8581 ex. 40. The Maximilian M. Kolbe Polish School in our parish will be conducting the registration of children to their elementary and high school classes on Saturday, August 28th, in Borowczyk Hall from 8:00am to 2:00pm. For further information please call 773-594-1903. Please note that children can be enrolled in the St. Constance Parish Religious Education Program at the same time. All are welcome to take part in our parish picnic on Sunday, August 29th, at “Bunker Hill Woods.” Please come. We will get acquainted and enjoy a good time. Sister Bo¿ena is the coordinator of the picnic. You are asked to bring new toys for the children’s raffle to the parish office. For many years we have started the school year with the picnic. The whole family of St. Constance meets at the picnic. In a week’s time, on August 15th, at 10:00am we are leaving the parking lot of “Bank of America” on a luxurious bus to the marina of “Navy Pier.” We will ride on a ship on Lake Michigan. Those who want to see the panorama of Chicago can ride the huge Ferris Wheel. At 2:00pm we will see the Acrobatic Group from Shanghai, China. This day we will also see the “Air Show.” Reservations can be made at the parish office.
