Dear Parishioners and Friends,
In St. Luke’s Gospel Jesus affirms that acceptance of his teachings, as well as living according to them can cause discord and division in the family, because accepting the teachings of Christ involves also specific obligations and sacrifices. In the family we meet people who are deeply believing, unbelieving, or weakly believing and non-practicing. This is why many conflicts occur between older and younger generations, those who are strong in faith and those who are unstable and often are under the evil influence of friends. It is important that parents with understanding and love encourage and influence their children. Only positive talking of the teachings of Jesus Christ, as the only one, and of never fading esteem, can be accepted by young generations. Using force, pressure or persuasion many times brings about dislike, aversion and even conflict.
More important is the example of the way we live our lives. “Words encourage but examples attract.” Children who see parents praying, who respect each other, respect others and always follow God’s way, grow in a good atmosphere and most often become good people. Children of broken families, divided with no religious and moral values, many times have difficult childhoods and more difficult adult lives. Look at your family. What else can you do to improve it so that even greater bonds of love will unite it? Let us ask our Blessed Mother, whom we commemorate today on the feast of the Assumption, to be our Intercessor in all important family matters.

The situation is critical in certain regions of Poland after the terrible floods. Everything was completely destroyed and the government helped only in a limited financial way. I received a thank you letter for your monetary offerings from the Bishop of Sandomierz Krzysztof Nitkiewicz. The Bishop wrote that the offerings will be used to help the neediest people.
My sincere wishes of: health, luck and God’s blessings to our Secretary Renata Dr¹g who on Thursday, August 19th, celebrates her birthday.
May our Lord Jesus bless us all and our guests who visited us today.
