My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.

In the liturgy of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we hear the words of Mary rejoicing in the Holy Spirit, these words should be repeated by every believing heart. Mary is the image of the Church; she is the Bride of the Holy Spirit and the Mother of all people according to the grace she has received and her unique mission. It is she who, as the image of the Church, is “the royal daughter entering in full glory” before the king’s majesty; and this image teaches us the greatness of the vocation of all who will believe and give their lives in the service of God. It is for our good that God shows this beautiful picture, so that we may have no doubts about how much Christ loves us – the King and Bridegroom of the Church, who wants to be the Bridegroom of all our hearts.

However, if we wish the adoring “Magnificat” to resound in our hearts, we must follow the example of Mary, the “Fiat” must first be uttered – entrusting ourselves completely to God’s Word, deciding to fulfill God’s Will according to the charisms given to each of us. For only those who do God’s will may enter the kingdom of the Father; God’s will is the salvation of all people. Christ is urgently calling us to do this. So, let us ask our Queen today to intercede for us and ask God for the graces needed to accept this task.

Mary conceived Christ in her womb and then gave birth to Him, in the same way, she guards the presence of God in our souls. Today, she helps us fulfill this task in cooperation and union with Jesus.
