From the Pastor’s Desk

Today the entire Church celebrates World Mission Sunday.  St. Paul in his letter to Timothy reminds us of our Christian duty in these words:  “Remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you have learned it…proclaim the word…encourage through all patience.”  Today’s Gospel is a call to perseverance in faith and prayer.  An excellent example is the Gospel widow, who being rejected by the merciless judge doesn’t give up, but in the end, thanks to her determination, has her case heard.  So the saying that we should not pester God is not true. We must remember that God always listens to us, we need only hope and trust in Him without limit.

Congratulations to James & Patricia Liput as well as to Sophie Zegar who received an Award last Sunday from the Cardinal in recognition of their labor and sacrifice on behalf of our Parish.  I take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for their service to our church.

We also congratulate Bishop Thomas Paprocki, a former pastor of St. Constance Parish, as he receives The Heritage Award today from the Polish American Congress.

All Saints Day and All Souls Day are coming soon.  We remember our beloved deceased by offering Masses in their intention and by prayerful tributes.  To this end, please use the envelopes found in the back of church to write in the names of the deceased you wish to remember.

God bless!

Fr. Richard Milek
