From the Pastor’s Desk…
Last week’s reading ended with Jesus stating “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” This week we hear the Jews murmuring against Jesus. After all, they knew him as the son of Mary and Joseph; how could anything more be believed? Jesus explains that God is the one who will draw people to him. He says “Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me.” Later, in this week’s passage, Jesus again asserts “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”

On Wednesday, the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a new school year begins in our Catholic school. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 12:45pm for all students, teachers, parents and those who support our school. I remind you that enrollment in our school is still available with the possibility of obtaining a scholarship.
I would like to remind everyone about the farewell celebration for Sister Zofia next Sunday and I invite you all to come to say goodbye to Sister.  A bilingual Holy Mass will start at 1:30pm, and after Mass we will celebrate in the parish hall so that together we can thank Sister for her beautiful and devoted service to our parish.
I also invite you to our Parish Picnic on Sunday, August 26. Please invite your relatives and friends. Details can be found elsewhere in this parish bulletin.
