This Week Letter – March 22, 2020
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In this difficult time that we’re going through together, I would like to assure you that as your priest, I am with you wholeheartedly. Not only I, but also all the priests of our parish support you with our prayers. Knowing that we need to adapt to the current situation, that is, without being able to invite you to celebrate the Holy Mass together, we would like to assure you that during our private Holy Masses, (unfortunately without the participation of the faithful) we will pray for the intentions that were given so far, as well as for all the members of our parish community and people who are suffering from the virus, embracing the elderly in a special way. We ask you to be especially mindful of those who live next to you who are not able to take care of themselves during this time.
I would also like you to know that you can always ask a priest for the Sacrament of Reconciliation with God.
I urge you all to consider this situation as a spiritual challenge. God loves us continuously and so; we should use the rest of Lent to unite with Him even more than ever. All that we experience today, sadness and longing especially in relation to the Eucharist, can become an opportunity for atonement and deepened penance. Let us take advantage of this time and as Jesus instructs us: “enter your inner room, close the door and pray to the Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will give to you in return.” / Mt 6 /
Therefore, please unite in private in prayer and take advantage of the opportunity to experience the Eucharist using TV and the Internet:
