From the Pastor’s Desk

Today’s Gospel sounds like Christ’s last will which is being delivered to us before His departure.  His words are simple and beautiful though not easily realized in today’s world of indifference and hatred.  Christ’s testament reads:  “My children, I will be with you just a little while longer.  I give you a new commandment:  love one another.  As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.  This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  It is a testament of love and a recipe for man’s happiness.  Usually it is one person who is the executor of a will.  But in the case of Christ’s testament, it depends on all of us whether His will is fulfilled on earth or whether it is not.

Last week we celebrated the reception of First Holy Communion in our parish.  This is just one more proof of how much Christ loved us, since He gave us His body for food.  Congratulations to all of our children who received their First Holy Communion, to their parents and to their catechists!  We assure you of our prayerful remembrance.

I will go on pilgrimage to Rome from May 22 to June 1. Please pray for us and we will pray for you.
